Dwelling on the Past

Dwelling on the Past

Let's all tell the truth today...

We all spend time looking back at our past mistakes, some stare into that abyss longer than others. Some can't move forward because they don't believe they can be based on what they keep looking back at. And why?

Nine times out of ten, you've learned from your past mistakes and you don't make them again. But then you keep yourself from trying, for fear you'll repeat that mistake or that things will be as bad as they were then.

Really? Okay let me ask you... Did that mistake kill you, wreck your life to the point You couldn't do a damn thing ever again? Of course not, the fact you're reading this proves it.

So when we find ourselves looking back on the things we didn't get right or tough times, remember that the end result is that somehow you survived it. You're still here. And as long as you're here, you have an opportunity to be the greatest version of yourself.

You have a responsibility to utilize the unique gifts you were given to make the world a better place. Not to sit on your hands and look back and lament the days long gone. If you must look back, look upon the day you overcame, the moment you corrected your course and your way out of whatever situation you faced materialized in your mind and you took the action to make it real.

There's an old gospel song that says, "My soul looks back and wonders, how I got over."

Do that. Don't focus on the problem, be grateful for the solution that came when it was it needed.

THEN, know with a confident heart that when the storm comes or the mistakes happen, you will get through because of the given greatness already in you.

It's who we are. It's what we do.

Go. Be. Epic.
