NEW BOOK: Black Bones Jones

As promised, it's Friday the 13th and I'm thrilled to announce my new horror western, BLACK BONES JONES!

Official description: Fearing his town may become the next victim of an evil sweeping across the South, a small-town sheriff employs the help of an ex-slave, ex-soldier, and exorcist named Black Bones Jones, to save all he loves.

I had so much fun writing this story!

The surface layer of tension is that it's set in 1865, just after the U.S. Civil War ended, which was a complicated and difficult time. The deeper layer is that the main character is a shaman who has special gifts that were passed down to him from his mother and generations before her--and people of all walks of life seek out his help. 

My editor loves to say, "He's the Black hero we didn't even know we needed!"

We're dropping the first book trailer today on facebook around 8 am PT.

It will go on pre-order on various bookseller's sites over the next couple of weeks, and as we see it available, we'll add the links here and on social media.

Black Bones Jones will be available in hardcover and ebook on 10.10.24 wherever books are sold. The paperback will available next spring.
